Being 98.6% genetically identical to human beings, chimps probably feel an affiliation with our species that sees them coexist without ever the threat of violence, right? Wrong. There are many documented cases of chimps lashing out at humans, mostly whilst in captivity of course. Being so close to us, does this provide a mirror for our society with regards to an inherent violence within our social structure? It’s a good thing they are not quite intelligent enough to manufacture bombs….
